Nemesis#1...I can see the day of defeat!

Single rep pull ups. A workout solely dedicated to conquering my long time foe. Did I win the battle - not really, but I think the pull up maistro is starting to feel a bit of a tremble, knowing in his heart that he will be defeated. (just a bit melodramatic, but really, isn't doing a pullup a bit like slaying a dragon???)

Because I'm still in the bands, and can't complete the kippers, all pull ups are dead hang.
We started with a warm up 4-5 in the blue bands.....ok, no problem. Then a couple one blue/one red, little tougher, but still ok.
Then one at a time. Dead hang in the red bands. I still have the issue with my bulging biceps preventing me from completely getting the bar to my shoulders (hee hee!). But I got the red bands ok for the most part. Even tried one with 1 red 1 mini - that wasn't so good, only about 1/2 way up. For the most part I stuck with the reds. Here's the weird thing....about halfway through this, as I was pulling up, my elbows would pop. You talk about a bizarre sensation...popping elbows, not painful or anything just a bit of weirdness.

Final round, Jonathan tells me to go to one red, one blue....huh? Really? I must have had a dumbfounded look, I think I said something...can't remember exactly what....but then it was my choice. So - it was reds again. Even if the best I can do is "almost there - really darn close" - I would rather end on that note than to do it exactly correct with more assistance - giving myself a false sense of accomplishment. Overall - this one went as I expected. I know I can't do the mini's, I've occasionally tried, and I know I can do the full-pop in the reds. As with everything some days are better than others. The reality is that I know what I need to do to finally slay this giant beast....

Ok, after reading through this, sometimes, don't you just really wonder, what the hell is going on in my head? I know I do!
