Yesterday, and "someday"...

Deadlifts yesterday were for max weight. This was a bit mixed. Round 3 I was able to match my previous PR - 255 (ok, at least I felt a bit of relief, because the first time I hit it, DL's felt so good, that I knew it had to be a freaky moment!) So, at least the 255 was not just an isolated moment delivered from space. However, after that round, I could not connect. Supposedly the hardest part of the DL is getting the weight off the floor. Well, for me, that wasn't really the issue. I was able to get the weight to my shin....but couldn't stand up the rest of the way. It was a bit puzzling. However, DL's are not my forte, and for some reason I'm more timid with them and higher weights than almost anything else. I think I just see more pain potential in them....

Cindy today- 5 pullup/10 pushup/15 squats max rounds in 20 minutes.
Well, I held true to my vow and did not go back into the big blues. Last time I was strapped into the big blues, I only got in 6 rounds or so, but the pullups were from the high bar, deadhang. Today, I did 8 rounds -pullups were red bands, low bar, jump up, hold, lower down. Not exactly stellar pullups, but I really did try to work them, since it's really hard not to jump alot on the low bar. Next time, I'll be doing high bar...work the lift part - attack from all angles! I have decided pullups are going to be part of my warm up now (unless we are doing 5000 of them in the actual workout!). I gotta hold to it if I'm really gonna defeat these bastards! Here's my thought - I may have a bigger butt cheek than some of the new people coming in - but they have puny little arms too - and I got me some guns that need to be put to good use! hee hee.

Pushups were fine - haven't done alot of them lately, so they felt a bit harder than usual, but not bad. Squats....get the rhythm and hold the course. Someday, once I'm able to do pullups - real pullups, I'll be able to fly through this pretty well - at least I'll be able to in my mind. AH....someday......
